Increasing vine longevity and health
A major challenge for the wine sector is the poor economic performance in grape production, which greatly limits its progress.
VITES QUALITAS addresses the problem of reducing the longevity of vines and their quality by conducting R&D activities and transferring plant production and pruning techniques.
The need to implement the project originates from and is based on previous collaborations between the UPNA and VITS Navarra, in addition to real evidence of a shorter vine longevity than in the past.
In addition, the need for experimentation and the required areas of knowledge have been met with the participation of CSICICVV, INRA, CAPA and BLUEAGRO.
The "Vites Qualitas" Project is made up of the following consortium of companies, institutes and universities:
VITIS NAVARRA SAT, BLUE AGRO BIOSCIENCE, CHAMBRE D’AGRICULTURE DES PYRENEES ATLANTIQUES, INSTITUT NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE AGRONOMIQUE, UNIVERSIDAD PÚBLICA DE NAVARRA, AGENCIA ESTATAL CONSEJO SUPERIOR DE INVESTIGACIONES CIENTÍFICAS.
"VITES QUALITAS" combines the regional communities of Navarre, La Rioja and Aquitaine (Pyrénées Atlantiques).
